AS COPS on Long Island broadened their search for an elusive serial killer who has been murdering hookers, one family held a vigil Sunday. Friends and family members of Shannon Gilbert left flowers and held a prayer vigil at the spot she was last seen a year ago screaming for help.
“I’m here to remember my daughter Shannan and to get the word out to help to find her and bring her home because we miss her and we love her and want her back,” mom Mary Gilbert said, adding she still holds out hope that her daughter is still alive.

Cops in rural Ohio say an 8-year-old girl got up Saturday and discovered four of her family members had been shot to death in the home they lived in. According to detectives, the little girl--whose name was not released--slept through the shootings.

GA. SERIAL KILLER MAY BE BEHIND MORE KILLINGS: COPS

GEORGIA cops believe serial killer Charles Lendelle Carter left behind more corpses than he has been credited with. Now serving a life sentence, the 43-year killer, was convicted of three slayings in the Atlanta-area earlier this year. But detectives are looking at Carter in two more cold case killings in the area that have his earmarks.
The killer lived with his mother at a hotel and worked as a chef at a variety of Atlanta restaurants and had been arrested 15 times between 1987 and 1997 for theft, deception, battery, aggravated assault and other offences. While being questioned in the three sex slayings, Carter admitted he killed a man in DeKalb County in the early 1990s. In November, Carter was charged with the March 16, 1992, shooting of Michael Leon Sneed, 35.

During his arrest at Haynie Elementary School in Georgia, a furious Harlon Porter told officers he had reached a "new level of enlightenment" and "he wanted everybody to be free now that his third eye was open."

Real life Robin Hood,  Elmer McGuirt walked into the Tampa bank and passed a threatening note to the teller demanding money, who promptly gave him some money.
What he hadn't thought about was how he'd get away, so with the loot in his pocket he ran outside and hopped onto a bus.
