MEXICAN pop heartthrob Kalimba has been thrown into jail on charges of raping a teen girl.
The Latin Lothario called ‘The New Ricky Martin’ by some, was immediately picked up after touching down on a plane from Texas.
He was deported from The States on immigration violations.
The 28-year-old singer who’s full name is Kalimba Kadjaly Marichal Ibar is alleged to have raped the 17-year-old in a hotel room, before Christmas.
He has repeatedly denied the allegations, which have been front page news in his home country, claiming the teenager went to his hotel with several other people after the show.
His lawyer, Eliezer Garcia, told the Televisa network that Kalimba was in Texas on a business trip when he was arrested, and was not trying to flee.
He formerly performed with the group OV7.
