WE THOUGHT they only liked picnic baskets? Yogi Bear loving, convicted killer Tracy Province, who escaped from an Arizona prison planned to OD on heroin. Then, once stoned in Yellowstone National Park, let the bears eat him. After his capture, he told a sheriff's detective that he had wanted to go up on a mountain, shoot up a gram and: "be bear food."
But as he was preparing the drug, a voice told him not to go through with the plan so he changed course in favor of trying to hitchhike to Indiana to see his family.
He called it: "Divine intervention." 
   Province hatched his bizarre plan with fellow con, John McCluskey and alleged accomplice Casslyn Mae Welch. 
In July they escaped with a third inmate, Daniel Renwick, from a minimum security prison near Kingman, AZ. Authorities believe Welch threw cutting tools over the perimeter fence to help them.
The trio now face capital murder and carjacking charges in New Mexico.

Province himself, has already pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and armed robbery in Arizona.
Yellowstone National Park spokesman, Al Nash said it was possible that Province's plan to be "bear food" might have worked but it struck him as improbable.

He said: "We have fair number of bears in our ecosystem. They eat about anything. A bear would rather get an easy meal than a difficult meal, but human bear encounters are very rare."
