SHANTERRICA MADDEN KILLED CO-ED HOOPS STAR: COPS

MADDEN
STEWART
A COLLEGE  basketball player brutally stabbed her roommate with a kitchen knife after a row turned ugly at their shared apartment, cops say.
Shanterrica Madden, 18, has been charged with first degree murder after plunging the blade into 21-year-old Tina Stewart after a spat, believed to be about drugs in the apartment.
Stewart had called the cops to investigate those claims, but a visit from the cops found no evidence of narcotics on site.
Madden's defense attorney's is claiming his client was defending herself from Lady Raider basketball player Stewart after the pair had a huge fight.

Defense attorney Joe Brandon Jr. said: "This was a fight between the two girls. Ms. Madden, in defending herself, used a knife of Ms. Stewart's.
"Ms. Stewart had Ms. Madden down on the ground beating on her, and through the course of the fight Ms. Madden used Ms. Stewart's knife to defend herself."
But Murfreesboro Police spokesman Kyle Evans rejected the self-defense claim, saying: "We do not believe that to be the case, and we stand behind the first-degree murder charge."
Stewart's boyfriend K.C. Anuna, a men's basketball player and Nashville native told The Daily News Journal that the pair had a minor spat between roommates.
He said: "It wasn't something serious. I feel like the person that did it got mad and took it out of hand — way out of hand. She was trying to do the right thing."
A Trial date has not been set yet.
