KILLER WHO TERRORIZED LA SINCE '50s PLEADS GUILTY

A SERIAL killer who terrorized Los Angeles in the 1970s and 1980s has pleaded guilty to butchering and sexually ravaging seven women. He was given seven life terms for his trouble.

John Floyd Thomas Jr., 74, a retired insurance adjuster cashed out Friday with the pleas. The twisted monster's victims ranged in age from 56 to 80. Cops also suspect the Westside Rapist as he was dubbed was responsible for dozens of rapes. Thomas was finally busted in March 2009 for the 1972 murder of Ethe Sokoloff, 68, and the slaying of Elizabeth McKeown, 67, in February 1976. LAPD says DNA sank Thomas. They were also looking at scores of other unsolved murders from 1955 to 1978
"He has been my worst nightmare," said Tracy Michaels, who came from Texas, to witness Friday's conclusion of a 35-year search for justice after her great-aunt McKeown, was raped, strangled and stuffed in the trunk of her car. "For me the death penalty would've been too easy."
