LONG ISLAND KILLER: BOTCHED PROBE COSTS COP JOB

THE COP overseeing the Long Island Serial Killer investigation had been booted to the curb because the probe has been so badly bungled, a published report said. Police Commissioner Richard Dormer has been getting hammered for releasing investigation details only the killer would know. Now, Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy is so furious he's axing Dormer.
A source told the New York Post: "Levy's upset, [Dormer] gave out too much information about the burlap bags, that the victims were all on Craigslist, that they were prostitutes. [Dormer] embarrassed the department."
Of course, denials abound. Great cop. Best ever. Noooo, we didn't ask
him to resign. But the truth is the serial killer probe has been a screw up since Day 1. The remains of 10 bodies have been found since December on a remote Long Island beach. Four of the women were hookers.
