ROOMIE CHARGED IN RUTGERS GAY SEX TAPE SUICIDE

BROADCASTING his roommate's steamy sex session online set off a chain reaction which caused his friend to commit suicide.
But now the man behind the cruel prank that went horribly wrong is set to face charges. 
Dharun Ravi, set up a webcam thinking his pal Tyler Clementi was going to bring a woman back to his room - only for him to come back with a man. But the prank backfired horribly when the distraught 18-year-old on finding out he'd been filmed,  jumped off the George Washington Bridge in Trenton, NJ killing himself a few days later.  It was one of a string of suicides from young people perceived to be gay.  Now Ravi, also 18 has been charged with bias, invasion of privacy, witness and evidence tampering, and other charges stemming from the suicide of his purported pal.
His friend Molly Wei, 18, who helped has not had charges presented to the grand jury "at this time," although they may well be filed later.
Tyler Clementi's family said in a statement: "It spells out cold and calculated acts against our son Tyler by his former college roommate."
"If these facts are true, as they appear to be, then it is important for our criminal justice system to establish clear accountability under law. We are eager to have the process move forward for justice in this case and to reinforce the standards of acceptable conduct in our society."
Lawyers for Ravi say the webcam stream was viewed only on a single computer and did not show the men having sex.

A trial date will be set soon.
