SERIAL KILLER CLIFFORD OLSON DEAD! KILLED 11 KIDS

ONE OF the world's most notorious serial killers is dead. Canadian monster Clifford Olson died Friday in a hospital in Quebec after a long battle with cancer. The 71-year-old killer preyed on the young during his reign of terror in the late 1970s and early '80s in the Pacific coast province of British Columbia. And even after he was captured and incarcerated for life, he continued to torment his victim's families with his sinister manipulations of court process.

Declared a dangerous offender, Olson had often described himself as the "beast of British Columbia." He spent 30 years in jail but it did not keep him out of the headlines. His notoriety even resulted in major changes in the Canadian correctional system: restrictions on early parole for murderers and the eventual elimination of the "faint hope clause," the denial of federal pensions to certain prisoners and increased time between parole hearings for multiple murderers.

Christine Weller's body was found on Christmas Day 1980 when the body of Christine Weller, 12, was found, strangled and stabbed. The young girl from Surrey was the first of his 11 known victims. He reportedly lured them with the promise of a job, and then plied them with alcohol and drugs. He tortured them, sexually assaulted them, killed them and then dumped their bodies. In the end, he said God forgave him for the murders. We suspect not.
