A JILTED boyfriend repeatedly assaulted his girlfriend after kidnapping her and holding her hostage in her own home for two months. Mad Eric Bernard Barney Jr had dated the woman for just five months, when he viciously tried to kill her by strangling her and smothering her with a pillow. 
But although cops got an arrest warrant they couldn't find the crazy 31-year-old and just four days after the vicious attack, the woman faced a horror movie scenario. 
Two days later, while she was sleeping Barney let himself in with a key she didn't know he had, telling her he wanted to talk with her and apologize.
But the woman said when she told Barney he couldn't stay in her house, he replied: "I can do whatever I want, and I'm not leaving you, ever."
According to the arrest affidavit for the next two months, the victim said Barney held her captive and brutalized her, the affidavit said.
Barred windows on the property made escape difficult. 
She told 7News that constantly threatened her, saying if she did not do as he instructed or called police, he would kill her and her family, the affidavit said.
She said: "I honestly thought that my family, my kids and myself were going to be killed at the end."
She added that she shook all the time and is still afraid something might happen to her telling the station: "It's not just him. There are other people out there. His gang affiliation is out there."
Cops say she eventually managed to break free and call her brother, who told cops that he saw blood stains on her bedroom wall and bedding, along with holes in the walls,
 Court records say that she badly beaten, had a broken nose and required stitches for cuts to her face.
He is now in Denver jail facing charges of sexual assault causing serious bodily injury, sexual assault, false imprisonment and menacing.
He is being held on $150,000 bail.
