CHRIS & MARY SULTZE STARVED BABY: OBESITY FEARS

IDIOT MOM
BAD DAD
THERE are bad parents and then there are Mary and Christopher Sultze - who decided to starve their baby because they were afraid she would end up obese.
Doctors began tracking the girl's lack of growth and weight gain at her four-month checkup in November 2010, when she weighed just 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
Rather than help them the Sultze's told them that they were concerned about their daughter's weight and insisted they were feeding her enough.
Months went by with no significant improvement and as one doctor told the court yesterday, "the child had no fat on her body and we essentially starving."
So finally in August the family's doctor convinced the couple to bring their daughter to Children's Hospital near their home in Fox Valley, WI for an evaluation.
The girl gained 8 ounces in one a day at the hospital.
But against the advice of doctors, they decided to take their daughter home.
According to the criminal report, the couple's daughter weighed eight pounds when she was born in July 2010 and weighed just 13 pounds this September.
Doctors began tracking the girl's lack of growth and weight gain at her four-month checkup in November 2010, when she actually lighter at just 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
Christpher Sultze, 35, was released on bail on the condition he had no contact with the child while His Mary Sultze, 36, waived the right to a preliminary hearing yesterday in exchange for her release on bail so that she could return to the couple's three other children.
