CAPT.: ROBERT WAGNER CAUSED NATALIE WOOD'S DEATH

FOUL PLAY?
WAGNER
UPDATE: The captain of the boat that actress Natalie Wood vanished off during a 1981 cruise is now pointing the finger at Robert Wagner. Capt. Dennis Davern, told NBC's “Today” that Wagner asked him not to take steps to find his wife. He said: "It was a matter of 'We're not going to look too hard, we're not going to turn on the search light, we're not going to notify anybody right at the moment."  Was the former Heart to Heart star responsible for Wood's death? Davern said:"Yes I would say so." CAPTAIN: WAGNER TO BLAME
EARLIER: Hollywood legend Natalie Wood's drowning death has been reopened by cops almost 30-years after her body was found.
The Oscar nominee was found in the chilly waters off Southern California after spending the night drinking on Catalina Island and a yacht with husband Robert Wagner, Christopher Walken and the ship's captain Denis Davern.
Coroner's officials ruled her death an accidental drowning, perhaps caused by her slipping off the boat while trying to tie down a dinghy.
They said she was "possibly attempting to board the dinghy and had fallen into the water, striking her face."
But LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore a renewed inquiry was prompted by unspecified new information about Woods' case.
Sheriff Lee Baca however told the LA Times that detectives want to talk to Davern after learning of comments he recently made about what happened on board.
While he did not provide further details, adding only that the captain "made comments worthy of exploring."
Davern was quoted in a Vanity Fair article as saying that Wood and Wagner fought in their cabin before the actress went missing.
Wagner's spokesman Alan Nierob said his client fully supported the efforts, although he insisted that the star had not heard from investigators.
He said they hoped the information, "comes from a credible source or sources other than those simply trying to profit from the 30 year anniversary of her tragic death."
Wagner has previously written: "Did I blame myself? If I had been there, I could have done something. But I wasn't there. I didn't see her."
He added that he has never returned to Catalina Island.
