Cops: Cards' Jonathan Dwyer beat wife over sex

"Ya gotta be a football hero, to get along with the beautiful girls..." or so the old song went. These days "girls" might be better off staying away from anyone or anything related to the gridiron. Fresh from a series of alleged domestic assaults, the NFL now has to deal with  Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer.

Dwyer allegedly head-butted his wife and broke her nose after she spurned his sexual overtures. He was arrested Wednesday for what Phoenix cops called "aggravated assault." His wife apparently left Arizona after the July beatdowns, but emerged last week after Dwyer sent suicidal text messages. including a photo of a knife.
The latest PR black eye comes as the NFL and its executives are under fire over a series of violent incidents involving some of the league’s top players, including: Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy.  Dwyer has been put on ice by the team.
