Cop killer Eric Frein's journal 'cold blooded', 'chilling'

POCONOS, PENNSYLVANIA -- Cop killer Eric Frein's journal "provides a cold blooded and absolutely chilling account" of the night he ambushed two troopers killing one and injuring a second outside a police barracks, cop said.
He wrote that he saw his shot and he took it, adding that he "was surprised at how quick," in the journal which was found at a hastily abandoned campsite, where officers also found explosives and ammunition.
Frein wrote that he took a follow up shot on trooper Cpl. Bryon Dickson's head and neck area.

"He was still quiet after that," he said. "Another cop approached the one I just shot. As he went to kneel, I took a shot at him and (he) jumped in the door. His legs were visible and still."
Trooper Alex Douglass is continuing to recover.    
It goes on to describe his escape from the shooting in a jeep, although he inadvertently ran into a retention pond, which he called "a disaster," according to a police affadavit.
Frein, who is charged with murder and other offences remains at large. Searchers believe they spotted him, but the dense Pocono Forest terrain has allowed him to evade them.
