BAREFOOT BANDIT: FIVE SHARE $10G REWARD

MOMMA TRIED
THE Barefoot bandit, who's daring escapes made him a cult hero has made five people rich as they shared a reward for his capture in the Bahamas last summer.
Colton Harris-Moore, who has no formal flight training, stole at least five planes and dozens of car and boats as he evaded capture for a string of burglaries over the last two or three years.
Eventually, he flew a light plane from his home in Vancouver Island to the Caribbean, landing in the Bahamas, where a $10,000 FBI reward and a huge law enforcement team caught up with him.
Jordan Sackett celebrated along with Capt. Ronald Billiot, Capt. Patrick Young, Capt. Ben Johnson and Kenny Strachan, a security guard at the Romora Bay Resort. "Bottoms up," said Sackett in an e-mail.
FBI Special Agent Fred Gutt confirmed the reward fund payout but offered few details.
He said: "The $10,000 reward money was paid out to people directly involved in (Harris-Moore's) capture,"
The incentive was posted shortly after Moore, who turns 20 soon crashed a plane in the Bahamas.
At the time Kenny Strachan said he recognized the teen tearaway from Comona Island, Vancouver, when he spotted him running through the resort's marina.
As cops swarmed Harris-Moore jumped in a small boat and sped off, so officers borrowed a boat from Sackett's father to give chase.
As Harris-Moore's boat began to float free, authorities opened fire on its outboards, disabling the boat and allowing police to put the Barefoot Bandit in handcuffs.
"It was extraordinary excitement to bring him back," Strachan said.
Harris-Moore is facing a five-count indictment in U.S. District Court in Seattle, plus more than a dozen felony charges in three counties in Washington and in Nebraska.
Harris-Moore's defense attorney, said he has been working toward a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, although none has been announced so far.
