COLO. BOY, 12, FACES 9 CHARGES IN PARENTS' MURDER

BUTCHERED
THE 12-year-old boy who brutally shot his parents and wounded two of his siblings will have nine charges filed against him including two counts of first degree murder.
Charles and Marilyn Long were found blasted in their Burlington home but new details released by prosecutors allege that the boy tried to hurt his five-year-old sister with knife and shot his brother, nine.
They are expected to recover from the injuries given to them by their brother, who authorities are still deciding whether to charge the boy as an adult.
Because of the delicate nature of the crime, the case remains under a
gag order, but the Kit Carson County judge, however, will allow for some aspects of the case to be public, including the charges filed and hearing dates.
District Attorney Bob Watson said he decided to release information to address rumors swirling around the case.
He said: "Between the social networking, Facebook, Twitter, various blog sites, the information is out there pretty quick and quite often that information is absolutely wrong,"
The couple, described as "very Christian" by neighbors were buried on Friday.
