IT used to be that you'd bring in an apple for your teacher or maybe a box of chocolates.
So imagine the surprise on Florida educator got, when she opened her present to find a loaded .22-caliber handgun at the bottom of the assorted toiletries she'd been handed. Needless to say the stunned teach at the Allamanda Elementary School immediately started to investigate and it turned out the students grandmother had hidden the pistol in the box to hide it.

Unknowingly the girl had then picked the wrong box in which to wrap her teacher's present.  
Reportedly the gun was never actually in the school building or in the hands of students but that's grandma for you - always hiding guns in gift boxes.
