"CLARK ROCKEFELLER" MURDER TRIAL OPENS

WHO ARE YOU?
A CRAZY German immigrant who posed as a member of the world famous Rockefeller family has appeared in court for the first time
Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, who over the years has had numerous identities including "Clark Rockefeller" is accused of murdering his landlord more than 25-years ago.
Cops say he was renting Jonathan Sohus and his wife Linda's guesthouse in Los Angeles' wealthy San Marino enclave when he murdered them.
At the time Detectives say he was posing as wealthy English aristocrat Christopher Chichester, who had quickly ingratiated himself into the well to do community, before vanishing shortly after their disappearance.
Cops started investigating in 1994 after skeletal remains, believed to be those of Jonathan were found when the new owners were excavating for a swimming pool.
His wife is still missing.

Gerhartsreiter meanwhile, continued to change his identity, morphing into a physicist, art collector, ship captain and financial adviser who renegotiated debt for small countries.
Gerhartsreiter was already serving a prison term in Massachusetts following the 2009 conviction in the kidnapping of his 7-year-old daughter in an elaborate scheme in which he hired two people to drive them to New York, when these fresh charges were brought.
Outside court, Gerhartsreiter's Boston lawyer, Jeffrey Denner, acknowledged it was unusual to have charges brought after such a long time, but said "old case, new case, he didn't do it."
He added that it could be a significant amount of time before the case comes to trial, but the defense would immediately be receiving 9,000 pages of discovery material from the prosecution.
