IT WAS nothing short of a massacre and it ended in an abandoned lot. Cops in Bucks County, Pennsylvania said Sunday they found the body of a U.S. Army Captain they believe murdered four people, then wounded two cops.The body of twisted Leonard John Egland, 37, of Fort Lee, Virginia was found in a Philly suburb. It's believed he blew his own brains out. The suicide ends a massive multi-state manhunt. Detectives believe Egland murdered his estranged wife, Carrie Egland, 36, Saturday in Chesterfield County, Va. Also killed were her new boyfriend and the boyfriend's young son, whom police have not identified.
After the slayings in Virginia, police believe Egland drove with his young daughter, Lauryn, to Buckingham Township. Later, the madman broke into his former mother-in-law's home and shot her to death as she watched TV in the easy chair. Barbara Ruehl was 66.
