HE CALLED himself the "Polite Bandit" but he'll need a lot more than good manners where he's likely to end up.
Cops say 67-year-old Robert Raymond walked into the First Niagara Bank in Hamden, Conn and handed the teller a note.
"This is what I want you to do," it read, referencing a bank robbery.
It went on to say that he had a controlled bomb which could be activated by a cell phone in his pocket, which he would detonate if the teller activated the alarms.
"Please give me all the money you can," he continued, signed, "the polite bandit."
The teller handed him the cash there was a dye pack in it, which would explode the moment it was opened, covering him in paint.

Scott James Larsen, 43, surrendered to agents on Monday after learning he was being sought for at least 12 bank robberies and was promptly arrested.

NBA bad boy Javaris Crittenton is wanted for the drive by shooting of a 22-year-old mom of four, who was not the intended target of the murder, cops say.
The one time Laker, who was most recently drafted by the Washington Wizards was apparently aiming at someone who had robbed him.
But after driving up slowly in an SUV he mistakenly took out Jullian Jones, who later died from her injuries.  
Atlanta Police Major Keith Meadow said: "It's my understanding there was some jewelry and other valuables that were stolen. It appears that he may have had an NBA ring that was stolen during the robbery."
He added that witnesses identified Crittenton.
He told Fox Atlanta: "We had a great deal of outrage in that community shortly after Ms. Jones was shot and we had a great deal of cooperation from people in the community.

COPS think they have finally caught the wig wearing bank robber dubbed the "bad hair bandit."
Crossing the pacific northwest with her cat and a suitcase full of cheap ill fitting wigs, FBI agents believe Cynthia Van Holland was behind at least 19 heists.
Using a non violent approach, the 47-year-old would walk up to the tills and hand the cashier a note claiming she was armed and demanding cash.
Then, once she got the cash, she returned to Idaho where she worked as a prison nurse.

UPDATE: They got 'em. The Dougherty Gang who had a brief but violent run on the Most Wanted List have been captured in Colorado following a shootout. The trio-- Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, and 29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty were taken into custody after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash Wednesday. Cops in Pueblo say they were spotted trying to buy AK-47 ammo at a Walmart. The gutsy clerk made an excuse why he couldn't sell any and called the cops. A high-speed chase began at 9:36 a.m. and ended 20 miles later. The trio fired at cops. When they crashed their car, Lee Grace came out shooting and was shot in the leg for her troubles. THE leader of the deadly Dougherty gang, who shot up a cop car in a high speed pursuit and the robbed a bank "lived in a fantasy world" according to his lawyer.
Along with his brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley and sister Lee Grace Dougherty, Ryan Dougherty  has been on a crime spree since last Tuesday, when they were last seen holding up the bank in Valdosta, GA.
Despite being the youngest at 21, cops consider Ryan to be the leader of the terrible trio, who are now believed to be hiding out in Tennessee.

SHE'S  a nun on the run no longer, as cops say Navachia Edwards is one of the brazen robbers who held up a Chicago bank in a heist that looked like a carbon copy of Ben Affleck film "The Town."

Cops claim the 23-year-old she and an unknown accomplice escaped with $120,000 in cash after donning nun's outfits and masks exactly like the one featured in the movie which told the story of a Boston bank crew.

DRESSED as nuns, the masked raiders walked into the Chicago bank  in a heist that looked like a carbon copy of Ben Affleck film "The Town."
FBI officers were stunned by the CCTV footage from the Palos Heights, CA banks which showed a man and a woman wearing eerie plastic faced disguises with slits for eyes, similar to those  worn by robbers in the 2010 film.
Cops said the suspects pulled out handguns and forced bank workers to hand over cash before they drove off just before closing time at 1:58pm on Sunday afternoon.
