THE DEATH penalty awaits for Jeffrey Weisheit if he's convicted of starting the fire at his fiance's house, which killed her two children.
Cops say the 37-year-old was supposed looking after Alyssa Lynch, eight, and her five-year-old brother Caleb while their mom and the woman he was supposed to marry, Lisa was at work.
She told them they'd planned for him to drop the kids off at her parents house, before he went on to his job.
But the youngsters never made it - both of them passing away in the ferocious blaze that raged through their Evanville, IN home.
The flames were so intense that it took cadaver dogs several hours to locate the children's charred bodies, the Courier Press reports.

A TWISTED mom who killed her kids so she could improve her relationship with her boyfriend has been jailed for life for the "horrendous crime."
Sharon Hinojosa wanted to cement her relationship so she started the blaze at her Huron Township, MI, trailer which killed her children Anthony, four and Alayna, three. 
The man, who she pulled from the flames and his child escaped the inferno.
Sentencing her to life behind bars,, Wayne County Circuit Judge Daniel Hathaway said her acts "constituted a complete betrayal of what being a mother stands for."
But the 31-year-old claimed she loved her kids and apologized for her actions.

A PAIR of evil twin sisters have been have been busted for murder after leaving their toddlers to die in a fire in their home. Akeevia Lajoseia Abner and Tekeevia Lajoseialan Abner, 18, showed "an extreme indifference" to the children's lives and "created a grave risk of death to the children" by leaving them alone, Escambia County District Attorney Steve Billy said. A preliminary investigation indicated an oven left open could be the source of the blaze that killed their three children.

Today, it's Jennifer Christine Harris, who allegedly burned her pal's house down after she "unfriended" her on the social networking site.
Jim and Nikki Rasmussen were roused from their beds with a huge boom and crackling flames.
Thankfully the family managed to escape unharmed and when officers asked Jim if anyone would want to harm his family, he only had one name for them, Jennifer "Jenn" Harris.

The competition for customers got hotter than a pizza over when two managers of a Florida Domino's were arrested for arson after burning down a neighboring Papa John's Pizza in Lake City, FL.
Cops say Sean Everett Davidson, 23, eventually admitted to starting the blaze which gutted their rivals, in a bid to boost profits at his own pizza parlour.

Kimberly Boone didn't give him flames of passion in the bedroom - instead she gave him flames and now she's been found guilty of doping up her husband Robert and setting fire to their bedroom in a bid to kill him.
The college financial aid manager from Winter Springs, FL, wanted him dead, so she could claim his life insurance money, prosecutors maintained.
Investigators found search records on her laptop for information on making someone violently ill, poisoning, making a house explode, overdosing on Xanax, and how fire marshals determine the cause of a fire, according to the arrest affidavit.
After researching thoroughly, the 47-year-old drugged her husband with the anti-anxiety medication making it harder for him to escape the fire, they said.

NINA Holbrook apparently wasn't a very good daughter. She admitted as much to detectives. It seems the Wayne County, Indiana woman soaked her 50-year-old father Carl with a can of camper fuel and then set him ablaze. He was incinerated and later died. Cops say they received a 911 call regarding a severely burned victim. They found Carlo on the back porch with burns on his entire body, his clothing burned off. Apparently, Carl had planned to meet someone  when his daughter called him to "come inside." And that's when she committed her vile deed.
