UPDATE: A killer cops say slaughtered 7 in Grand Rapids, Mich. ended a tense standoff late last night by blowing his brains out. Cops have not released the names of any of the victims but it's believed one of the dead was Rodrick Shonte Dantzler's ex-girlfriend and their daughter, 10. Police Chief Kevin Belk said: "We'd have much rather got the suspect to surrender peaceably ... but that was not the situation."
DEVELOPING: Cops in Grand Rapids, Michigan say the suspected triggerman in the slayings of seven people Thursday has released one of two people he's holding hostage. The woman, 53, was released unharmed. Last
night he was still holding a hostage in a tense standoff with cops.
Cops say the suspect is Rodrick Shonte Dantzler, 34. The intense manhunt began after four people were found dead in a Grand Rapids home while three more bodies were found across town. Two of the dead are children. Dantzler then shot two more people who suffered non-life threatening injuries.
It's believed the slaughter stemmed from a domestic dispute. Dantzler's girlfriend lived at one of the houses and visited often. Sources say more family members lived at the scene of the second rampage. MORE IN THE DETROIT NEWS
