Who? The gang are a group of older women--at least one is in her 70s-- who wear a wild variety of hats as a disguise as steal cash and credit cards from distracted shoppers in the Detroit area.
Cops say the gang have been at it for more than a year and have stolen a whopping $500,000.

FACELIFT LOVE GRUDGE SLAYING: CHARGES DROPPED

PROSECUTORS in North Carolina have dropped a murder charge in a bizarre cased that mixed plastic surgery, teen rivalry and a 30-year grudge. The charges were dropped against nurse Sally Jordan Hill, a former nurse anesthetist who had been accused of killing her former high school love rival Sandra Baker Joyner in 2001 by juicing her up with deadly drugs while she was recovering from a mini-facelift.

SOMETIMES it takes good old fashioned detective work, sometimes it's the latest DNA technology, or sometimes the thieves accidentally ring you from their pocket and tell you all about their crimes.
That's exactly what happened in upstate New York this week when when the 911 dispatcher picked up the phone and heard three crooks plotting their next crime.
Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh says police who were already looking for a suspicious person got the unlikely assist, when one of the plotters "pocket dialed" his cellphone's emergency number while driving near the scene of an earlier heist.

Christie Carr can now keep Irwin the disabled red kangaroo within the city limits of Broken Arrow, OK after a council meeting voted unanimously that she could keep him.
They had been worried that the Aussie native might grow up to 7 feet tall, weigh more than 200 pounds and bound 25 feet in a single leap.
But veterinarians say Irwin will probably not grow larger than 50 pounds because of his injury. 
Irwin fractured his neck and suffered brain damage when he ran into a fence and he can only hop with assistance, and cannot stand or walk on his own.

A TECHIE love rat has been convicted of murdering his wife and has been sentenced to life in prison. Brad Cooper--originally from Calgary, Canada--strangled his wife inside their suburban Raleigh, North Carolina home in July 2008. He was found guilty of first-degree murder in the high-profile trial that was rife with sex, infidelity and money.
Judge Paul Gessner said: "Your verdict in this case speaks the everlasting truth. This case is a horrible, sad tragedy . . . I suspect this matter will weigh heavily upon you in the days to come."
