COPS ARREST SUSPECT IN SICK MARIHA SMITH MURDER

DETECTIVES in Detroit have made an arrest in the sickening slaying of 5-year-old Mariha Smith. The pretty little girl had been reported missing last Sunday morning. Hours later Mariha's body was discovered, burned beyond recognition inside one of Motown's many abandoned homes about a mile from where she lived. An autopsy provided positive ID and revealed she had been strangled to death and then burned post mortem. Her skull had been crushed, indicating she was beaten.
As the manhunt went red hot Thursday, cops
released a piece of video showing a man buying 41 cents worth of gas. He is considered a person of interests.
Mariha was buried Friday and then same day, cops took the man into custody calling him a person of interest. Family members know the man.
Dominique Poole, Mariha's aunt, told ABCNews.com she thought her sister's boyfriend, Darnell Cheatham was acting suspicious the day the girl  vanished.
She said: "I knew it had to be someone that was at the house that did it. Everyone knows they failed the lie detector test and I hope Police bring justice and keep him in jail."
