FRAUD? |
Well now, ten former members of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA are suing the oh so clean pastor for conspiring to defraud them out of their retirement savings.
Their saying that he used his powers as a pastor to persuade them to invest in the financially troubled City Capital Corp at investment seminars hosted by the church.
The plaintiffs said in a lawsuit that in 2009 Long invited Ephren Taylor, then CEO of the company, to speak at New Birth, where he told them they could get rich.
Instead, they lost all of their money.
Lillian Wells told WGCL: "He didn't just bring Ephren Taylor to the church, he endorsed him, recommended him, validated him.
"Taylor knew what he was doing and it was one more plot to get money from us."
As a result she says she lost $122,000, her entire life savings.
Like the sexual abuse claims brought against the completely straight Long, who's penchant for flashy suits, jewelry and the odd tight fitting T-shirt has refused to comment, as has the church.
