AN ALABAMA man used a spoon to gouge out the eyes of his elderly uncle in a sickening orgy of violence. According to cops they were called to a home in Prichard where they found disabled air force vet Bonnie Pogue, 79, injured and a bloody mess. Nephew Timayo Sharraud Knight, 31, mentioned to detectives that he had "plucked" his uncle's eyes out. And in a nearby kitchen counter there was a bloody spoon. In a trash can were Pogue's eyeballs. He is being listed in serious condition and his nephew has been charged with first-degree assault.
Knight has a treasure trove of a criminal record, including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest etc. Police Chief Jimmy Gardner summed it up: “It’s gruesome. This is just a sad case.”
Neighbors said that family members are quiet and keep to themselves.
