Christopher Perretti II forced his way into the woman's New Castle, PA, home and demanded cash.
She gave him $5, but he pushed past her to take $20 from her purse
The town's Police Chief Thomas Sansone told WYTV: "At one point after that, the defendant kneels down somewhere in the house near her, and I don't know if he was praying with her or not, but he did stop and kneel down, and then he left the scene."
God obviously wasn't on his side however, as cops caught up with him just a few streets over from where the victim lived and he dropped a backpack and ran, but by Saturday, police had arrested their man.
Sansone added: "Found out he had a cut on his hand, which the victim did say he did at the scene, and it all matched up."
Perretti is being held in Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond and he faces charges of robbery and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
However he seems he's got a head start on finding religion behind bars.
