MR MAGOO BANDIT IS SCOTT JAMES LARSEN: FBI

MR MAGOO
MR MAGOO BANDIT
WITH his thick glasses and balding head he looked just like Mr Magoo, but unlike the nearsighted cartoon character, the scrapes he got into, were all too real.
Scott James Larsen, 43, surrendered to agents on Monday after learning he was being sought for at least 12 bank robberies and was promptly arrested.
During the heists, the calm, nerdy looking man, with an uncanny similarity to the 1960s cartoon character would walk up to the teller and hand them a note demanding cash.
Very precisely it would want them not to hand him any bank security devices and in some cases, the balding bandit with dirty blonde hair would thank them after receiving the cash.
FBI agents said he was known for his "calm demeanor," as victims told them that when he left the banks he'd robbed he never ran or appeared to be in a rush.
The geeky looking thief, in his prescription glasses also never attempted to disguise himself.
Agents believe his most recent heist was  Oct. 8 in Thousand Oaks, CA, just 10 days after he robbed a bank in Camarillo.
In between, the Mr. Magoo Bandit was linked to a bank robbery Oct. 4 in the San Francisco area and they have also connected him to six robberies in the San Diego area.
Investigator's were tight lipped about what Larsen had told them, but a source close to the investigation revealed: "We're pretty sure we've got our guy."
Anyone with any more information about the Mr. Magoo Bandit is urged to contact the FBI at 888-226-8443 (for LA-based callers), 858-565-1255 (for San Diego-based callers), or 415-553-7400 (for San Francisco-based callers).
