"HORRENDOUS" 13 DAY ASSAULT BY SPURNED NEIGHBOR

A SPURNED lover subjected his former neighbor to a "horrendous" 13 day kidnapping, beating and sexual assault because she rejected his advances.
Jeffrey Allan Maxwell abducted the 62-year-old woman at gunpoint, shackled her and repeatedly assaulted her.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said: "This is a horrendous case. We are glad she is getting the treatment necessary to overcome a horrific ordeal."
Parker County officials, along with the Texas Rangers, began investigating the woman's disappearance earlier this month when her house reportedly burned to the ground and she was nowhere to be found.
After a tip led them to Maxwell, 58, she ran from his Corsicana, TX home screaming when she was rescued Saturday.
Fowler added that he didn't know how much longer the woman could have made it.
Maxwell was arrested Saturday in Navarro County, more than 100 miles from Parker County where the woman was abducted, according to authorities.
Currently being held in Navarro County Jail he has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.
