However, Munster Police Chief Stephen Scheckel said his story is "inconsistent" and the chief believes he is involved in the disappearance and death of the beloved doctor.
He said: “We’ve narrowed the investigation down to just him. Our focus is now on the son (Paresh Paul). We believe she met with an untimely death. And we cannot rule out foul play.”
He asked the public’s help in placing Paresh Paul’s whereabouts between March 21 and March 27. Scheckel said Paresh Paul also goes by the names Paul Fountaine (with several spellings) and the aliases of Omar Ahmend and Paul Asconte.
Paresh Paul crossed the border with only a T-shirt and pants and his identification and when asked, would not explain how he arrived there or what happened to his missing mom and her car. While cops declined to reveal any potential motive in July Paresh Paul filed to seek guardianship to become the legal executor of her estate. Paresh Paul, under the name Paul Fontaine, owes more than $536,000 in tax liens to the IRS and has a judgment of nearly $1,700 to the state of California, according to court records.
He also had a volatile relationship with his mom.MORE IN THE CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
