FUGITIVE WIFE SARA JEAN RUSHER BUSTED 17-YEARS ON

BUSTED
THE FUGITIVE wife of an escaped prisoner has been busted almost 17-years after her husband was sprung from jail.
Back in March 1995 Sara Jean Rusher's husband David Lee escaped custody at FCI Estill, SC, where he was serving time for forging securities and jumping bail and went on the run with his wife.
Together they managed to evade authorities for years until earlier this month when cops got a phone call from a "Joan Piper Duncan" telling them her husband had passed away after contracting emphysemia.
But when she couldn't tell county deputy Mark Bowen his birthday or social security number, alarm bells started ringing.
And when they performed an autopsy on the man she told them was "James Gerald Amon" her hidden life completely unravelled.
As soon as they realized who he was US Marshalls went looking for her and she was later arrested at a local waffle house.
Rusher eventually admitted to her identity and will be extradited back to Greensboro to answer the charges against her.
According to Deputy Charles Brant of the marshal’s office at the time of their disappearance she was also on supervised release after serving time for drug charges.
She had transferred her release to Florida in February 1995 and then suddenly stopped checking in.
Kelvin Washington, U.S. Marshal for South Carolina stated, “The U.S. Marshals and their partnered agencies never give up on a case…ever. This case is a testament to anyone out there thinking about running from the law: your time will always run out.
"The diligence, determination, and perseverance exhibited in this case are something that the U.S. Marshals are proud of and I thank all agencies involved in working this case over the years.”

One hundred thirty of the rings, necklaces, barbour ladies and brooches are from the collection of art expert Diane Venet. She helped to set up the exhibit.
Ms. Venet met French sculptor Bernar Venet about twenty-six years ago. A short time later, he gave her a piece of quilted jackets silver designed as a ring. The ring celebrated the fact that they would soon be married. Ms. Venet said it was the first piece of barbour quilted jackets an artist's jewelry she had ever had.
As time passed, Bernar Venet exchanged pieces with mens barbour jacket artist friends who sometimes created jewelry. Ms. Venet's personal collection grew and grew, and she decided to exhibit it with works of barbour mens the other artists.
Holly Hotchner is the director of the Museum of Arts and Design. She says the ladies barbour jackets museum considers jewelry as one of the most important forms of art today. She notes that a piece of jewelry kid’s barbour jacket is not just a small version of a sculpture.
