Dekki Moate has now given DNA to cops in the hopes of finally identifying recently uncovered remains. Over the years Moate has criss-crossed the country looking for her mom--even appearing on Unsolved Mysteries. She still has fond memories.
"She was very supportive, she made me believe I could do anything," says Moate.Audrey Moate vanished at the same time her boyfriend was found shot to death in his car. No one has heard from Audrey since and detectives believe she was also murdered on that day in 1956. The DNA will tested against several unidentified remains the lab has collected, hoping one is Audrey.
THE FACTS ARE FAIRLY WELL KNOWN: "She had been in a long-term affair with Mr. Hotard, who was the man that was murdered with her, when she disappeared, and her belongings were found in the car," says Moate.NOW, Moate is battling cancer and says it is terminal.
