LONG ISLAND SERIAL KILLER MURDERED A CHILD

THE SEARCH CONTINUES
SICKENED cops have discovered that one of the 10 bodies found on the remote Long Island beach was that of child.
Forensic tests showed that the body was definitely a youngster but so far cops have nothing more to go on as they continue hunting for more bodies - some of which were dismembered.
The grisly discovery adds to the confusion for detectives who are already torn between whether
they are hunting for one killer or two.
"We knew we were dealing with someone bad, but now there's a child involved. It doesn't fit with MO but we're going to work even harder now we know this," a police source said.
To date they've found ten bodies, four of whom were hookers, but the others have yet to be identified.   At least one of them was strangled and cops are still unclear whether their bodies were cut up before or after they were dumped.
Police are also considering clearing a thick brush that has made searching the 3.5 mile stretch of beach with five of the bodies spaced out about 500 feet apart, cops said.
Although they've used cadaver dogs and divers they feel that cutting back the vegetation might help them finally work out how many the twisted killer or killers murdered.
While at least several of the victims appear to have been killed and dumped by a serial killer, authorities had not yet ruled out the possibility that more than one killer was responsible for the growing pile of human remains.
"Every time they find more, it's like it starts the whole tragedy all over again. It's like we find out it's our own child that they found over again," said Lorraine Ela, the mother of murder victim Megan Waterman, 22. "They're like family. We're like one big family," she added.
