MEET Kathy Michelle Coy. American monster. According to cops the 33-year-old Kentucky woman brutally murdered her friend Jamie Stice, 21, who was pregnant and deep in her third-trimester. After killing Stice, Coy cut the baby out of Stice as part of an evil plan to make it seem as if she had given birth to the baby. She later showed up at the Medical Center in Bowling Green and claimed that she had gone through labor in the woods and the baby was hers. The staff was not so easily fooled. They quickly reported a suspicious birth to the cops who ultimately found the dead body of the young mom.The baby’s father, James Reynolds, called the grisly act “pure evil” and is devastated by the loss of his partner. He said: “She was a great young woman. Smart ... would have been a great mother, very family oriented, loving and you couldn't ask for nobody better. She'd do anything for anybody.”
According to friends, Coy was desperate to have a baby—even going so far as to stealing someone else’s sonogram and claiming she was pregnant. According to Coy’s friend, Ashley Reeder: “She was desperate to prove to everybody that she was pregnant, and I guess nobody believed her because she was telling everybody, 'oh I'm pregnant, I'm pregnant, I'm pregnant.' So I think she did this to show everybody that she was gonna have the baby when it really wasn't her baby.”
On Coy’s Facebook profile, she is listed as an employee of Motherhood—a national maternity store chain. Heartbreakingly, Stice’s baby shower would have been this weekend.
