A CONNIVING wife wrapped herself in bubble wrap in a desperate bid to cover up the murder of her estranged husband, cops say. 
Jilted Laura Jean Wenke was allegedly furious that her former love has found a new girlfriend. 
So she carefully plotted the attack on him as he sat in his office San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe told the Los Altos, CA court.
The 50-year-old then wrapped her body in plastic wrap, wore overalls and boots before embarking on her deadly mission, he said, according to KSBW. 
Investigators believe she had taken the precaution of covering herself to avoid being splashed with her husband's blood.
Sneaking into his officer at Wenke Construction, she allegedly shot him with stun gun to immobilize him, she then launched a frenzied attack, stabbing him in the neck and the chest, while he was sitting at his computer.    

Family members said couple, who have an eight year old son, had filed for divorce in August 2010.

She was charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and other offences and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
She remains in jail without bail.
