RETIRED DETECTIVE PUT GUN IN DAUGHTER'S BOOK BAG

SHE really should have known better!
But retired NYPD detective came close to tragedy on Tuesday, when she put a loaded pistol in her six-year-old daughter's backpack - which the girl then took to school.
Quite what Marian Briso was thinking whne she put the .25-caliber Taurus handgun in her little girl's book bag, is unclear.
But the dumb mom who is also married to NYPD Capt Paul Brioso, clearly forgot to remove it and she walked into school.
A police source told the Daily News: "The kid went to school, opened up her bag and took it out. She said something, and a teacher came over."
Ironically, administrators at the Transfiguration School called 911 after discovering the weapon, and police removed it without anyone being hurt, but parents and kids were shaken by the close call.
One, Steve Chang told the paper: "No one was hurt - but maybe she don't know it's real gun and bang, bang, bang."
Emily Lam added: "No one was hurt - but maybe she don't know it's real gun and bang, bang, bang."
Brioso wasn't charged in the incident, but cops removed two other guns that were legally licensed to Brioso from her home.
Reached at his office at Police Headquarters, Capt. Brioso referred reporters to the deputy commissioner for public information's office.
