GEORGE CLOONEY CALLED IN BERLUSCONI SEX TRIAL

WITNESS?
UNDERAGE
HOLLYWOOD heartthrob George Clooney has been called up to testify at Silvio Berlusconi's prostitution trial - and he has no idea why.
The Italian Prime Minister is accussed of paying to have sex with Karima El Mahroug, when she was just 17-years-old and then trying to cover it up.
In statements given to prosecutors last August, El Mahroug, who is of Moroccan descent said she
attended one of his notorious "bunga bunga" parties.
She recalled: "He gave me an envelope with 50,000 euros in it. Berlusconi took me to one side and to a room where we were alone.
"He said that my life would change and even if he didn't say it, it was not hard for me to see he was suggesting sex with him."
Intercepted wiretaps also suggest that he knew her when she was 16.
Berlusconi's lawyers now claim they want Clooney as a witness because the girl claims she had seen him and his Italian girlfriend at one of Berlusconi's parties.
"It seems odd since I've only met Berlusconi once and that was in an attempt to get aid into Darfur," Clooney told TMZ.
The trial is set to begin on April 6 in Milan.
