FEDS OFFER $5 MILL. REWARD IN AGENT'S SLAYING

ZAPATA
THE FEDS are offering a staggering $5 million reward for info leading to the arrest of the killers behind the ambush murder of Special Agent Jaime Zapata. Zapata was gunned down Feb 15 by suspected drug lords during a mission to Mexico City. Without stopping to ask questions, two other vehicles rammed Zapata’s armored car off the road and opened fire—killing Zapata and wounding his partner

This marked the first time in a quarter century that a U.S. cop has been killed while on the job in Mexico.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said: “This reward reflects the U.S. government's unwavering commitment to ensuring that all those responsible for the murder of Special Agent Zapata are brought to justice.”
On the bright side, the shooting prompted a lightning response from the Mexican authorities, which announced the arrest of the cartel's leader after just eight days. The gangsters, identified as part of the Zetas drug cartel, admitted they thought Zapata’s entourage was a rival gang and mistakenly ‘jumped the gun.'
