SWEATLODGE SELF HELP GURU: 'I AM GOD'

KILLER?
SELF-help guru James Ray told participants "I am God" during the ill fated sweat lodge ceremony which killed three people, a court heard yesterday.
The best selling author of 'The Secret' and other self help books is accused of manslaughter for the deaths at his "Spiritual Warrior retreat. Prosecutor's allege he lodge, made of willow trees and branches, and covered with tarpaulins and blankets was heated to a perilously high temperature, causing the participants to suffer dehydration and heatstroke.
Amayra Hamilton who owns the Angel Valley Retreat Center where it was located claimed she heard Ray say: "I am the Alpha and the
Omega. I am God," at the start of the ceremony.
The ceremony consisted of eight rounds of 10 to 15 minutes. While they were not prevented from leaving, participants have said they were told to wait until the breaks between rounds, which also caused eight people to get ill.
Hamilton and her husband have filed a business claim tort suit against Ray for running his retreat, on their property, in what their attorney Kelley Ruda has called "a ridiculous manner."
The event participants, many of whom had been to his previous seminars, paid up to $10,000 to seek "new areas of consciousness" at the retreat, according to testimony
