REMEMBER this story we brought you about Jessica Beagley, the mom who thought it was acceptable to punish her son by putting hot sauce in his mouth.
Well it's landed the 36-year-old in hot water as her increasingly desperate attempts to get on the Dr Phil show have seen her slapped with 180-day suspended sentence and a $2,500 fine for misdemeanor child abuse.
Prosecutor Cynthia Fanklin said that after seeing a segment in April 2009 titled "Angry Moms," she contacted the show but heard nothing for a year-and-a-half.
Then after the show's producer's called to see if she was still, she submitted audition videos of her yelling at her young son.
But when they said they needed to see her actually punishing the 10-year-old boy, who she adopted from Russia, she gave the video camera to her 10-year-old daughter, made sure there was enough hot sauce on the shelf and made the boy eat it.
Days later, Beagley was headed to Los Angeles to tape the show that first aired Nov. 17.
The episode sparked public outrage in Russia, with some people demanding the boy and his twin brother be returned to their native country.
