ILL. JOCKEY'S DRUNKEN HIJINKS KILL GIRLFRIEND

DRUNK AND STUPID. It appears those are the words that jockey Angus Lake, 41, lives by. Lake is accused of driving his pickup truck drunk around Balmoral Park Racetrack in Illinois Monday and slamming into his girlfriend who was riding a horse. The collision killed Michelle Eustis, 25, and inured the horse and her friend.
Prosecutors claim Angus hammered "five or six" shots while in a barn at the track with poor Eustis and Heather France, 21. Apparently the two women decide to go bareback riding. When they didn't reappear, Angus went looking for them in his truck.
Next, stupid Angus hits the brakes behind the two women, slams into the horse giving it a huge gouge in its back, killing Eustis due to head trauma
and France broke her leg. It was ruled an accident but he had a blood alcohol level of 0.147 landing him four counts of driving under the influence.

“It was a quite a shock to everybody, an accident like that always is. It’s something this is unforeseen and a shock to everybody. Things go on, just a little sadder,” said track GM Mike Belmonte.
