EDWARD SHIN POSED AS MURDERED BUSINESS PARTNER

A CALIFORNIA high-flier who didn't want to buy out his business partner instead murdered him and then posed as the dead man, telling his family he was e-mailing from Africa.
Cops say Christopher Smith and Edward Shin were business partners in an advertising company called 800xchange. A falling out between the two led to an agreement that Shin, 33, would buy out Smith's portion of the company for $1 million. Shin--a scam artist of the first order--didn't want to pay so he killed Smith instead. He even sent the dead man's
family emails. Shin has confessed to all but won't tell detectives where the dead man's body is.
Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriffs said: "Rather than paying $1 million, he killed him. The motive was purely financial gain."
Shin, a husband and father of three, was arrested Sunday at LAX as he was boarding a flight to Canada. Shin's driver and personal assistant, Kenny Roy Kraft, was arrested as an accessory and confessed to helping his boss ditch the evidence.
According to ABC NEWS: In a six-hour interview with authorities, Shin revealed that he killed Smith, 32, in June 2010. For the next seven months, Shin pretended to be a traveling Smith in emails sent to his family in Oregon.
Amormino said: "The victim had mentioned to family and friends that he wanted to travel around the world and go on an extensive trip. Shin capitalized on that. He was definitely posing as the victim and trying to make them believe he was still alive." MORE FROM ABC NEWS
